Coverage ledger
The full denominator stays visible
Every Massachusetts city and town stays in the index, alongside all 14 county equivalents. The county layer distinguishes five functioning county governments, eight abolished county governments, and Nantucket's consolidated town-and-county structure.
Local election desks
All Massachusetts jurisdictions
Loading the searchable county-equivalent and municipal index from the published Massachusetts release.
Election calendar
Primary, state-election, and local checkpoints
Statewide filing and election dates are kept separate from municipal schedules controlled by local election officials.
Update notebook
Refreshes follow official publication dates
Primary certification, general-ballot updates, the November state election, canvass publication, and municipal-source reviews each trigger a separate check. These checkpoints are included in the project reminder schedule.
Massachusetts research notes
Central statewide records, decentralized municipal records
The Secretary of the Commonwealth publishes statewide candidates and certified state-election results. Municipal calendars, candidates, and results are controlled by the 351 cities and towns, so missing local records stay labeled as research gaps.
